University and Departmental Prizes: December 2013

The following students are among those whose excellent work has been recognised by the University, or external organisations and academic institutions, in December 2013.

Miss Priscilla Bok, History graduate, won the Winchester Reading Prize, administered by the Faculty of English, by reading aloud a selection of biblical and poetical passages.

Mr Thomas Godard, Theoretical & Applied Linguistics graduate, was awarded the Vivien Law Prize for an essay entitled “A new grammar by Joseph Priestley (1733-1804)", established by the Henry Sweet Society.

Miss Nina Klein, graduate in Natural Sciences and now undertaking a DPhil at Oxford, won the The Armourers and Brasiers’ AWE Prize.

Dr Jyoti Nangalia, Haematology graduate, had her paper accepted and a late-breaking abstract at the American Society of Haematology in conjunction with its release online at NEJM.
