Videos from Biotech conference now available online

Videos of Professor Chris Dobson’s discussions at a recent biotech conference held at St John’s have been made available to view online.

The GapSummit conference, organised by Global Biotech Revolution, was hosted by the College in March 2014 and held in the Divinity School. Global Biotech Revolution (GBR) are a student-led foundation whose mission is to inspire young people interested in biotechnology and support the next generation of leaders in the field.

The GapSummit is GBR’s flagship event, described as “the world’s first global inter-generational leadership summit in biotechnology”. The 2014 conference brought together one hundred talented students as well as biotech professionals, pioneering researchers and leading academics for a three-day discussion about the challenges and impacts of the global bio-economy.

Professor Dobson participated in a panel discussion on future health issues and access to biotechnologies in the developing world, along with St John’s Fellow Professor Sharon Peacock. The full panel discussion and a brief interview with Professor Dobson are now available to view online, giving people who did not get to attend the GapSummit a taste of what was discussed.
