Johnians support Legacy10 Campaign

Johnians Richard Reed (1991), Co-founder of Innocent Drinks, and Damon Buffini (1981), Chairman of the Social Business Trust and Partner at Permira, have both become Pledge Ambassadors for Legacy10, an independent campaign that aims to encourage individuals to give 10 percent of their estates to charity.  The Campaign, launched in November last year, aims to ensure as many of us as possible take advantage of the tax breaks coming into force in April, whereby  anyone who donates 10 per cent of their estate to a charity via a will is eligible for a 10 per cent reduction in inheritance tax.

Richard Reed commented: “Philanthropy is at the heart of what we do at Innocent. I call on my fellow business leaders to follow suit in the run up to next April’s tax changes. We all need to lead by example, to show that giving to good causes has the potential to transform our society by the direct contribution of individuals."

The Financial Times reports Legacy10's recent successes in recruiting prominent figures from the business and government sectors to the Campaign, including David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband.
